Camping in Pike National Forest
CR 1038 between Geneva Mountain & Revenue Mountain
Slick is ready to get out of the tent! When we first arrived, it took us a bit of time to fine the perfect spot, but i happened to wander off and found a great wooded area perched on a hill that was back away from the road. Seemed like a great place to test out my new hammock straps and solar shower! I was super excited, unfortunately even though the forecast called for perfect weather, it drizzled/ rained/ hailed for the majority of our trip with spurts of warm sun.
Chilly morning and ready for a warm cup of tea from the "designated tea station"
Slick clearly has just as much of a man-crush as I do when it comes to men chopping wood
Looks like camping with a man who knows his gutters keeps the tent floor dry and everything in working order!
A brief look of our sunny campsite
mixed fruit cobbler in the works
Slick watching the cobbler to make sure it reaches a golden brown
Hammock time! Now if only the rain would stay away...
Slick in the wild
The rain stopped for a bit so i decided to wander off for a bit and take some photos of our campsite
Hobo-Pack campfire dinner
Slick always wanting to know what im up to.
The sun is out again and its time to eat! Organic home grown beets and carrots from Clints garden, with mushrooms, onions, garlic, and fresh garden herbs, and corn-on-the-cob-off-the-cob! This was so hardy and delicious!
Slick is pooped after a long day of rain/ no rain and ready to hit the hay..
Long exposure of campfire light on the trees and stars in the sky... love this one
night sky and campfire...
Slick prefers to be sandwiched when he cuddles
Sadly it was time to go. We had planned to hike on our trip but after the questionable weather it turned into a lazy home-body camping weekend which we secretly both wanted in the first place, so it all worked out, even though I never got to test my solar shower due to the lack of sun to warm the water, it was still a blast!
